Ideas are arranged logically to support the purpose or argument.

Content or Quality of Information
Balanced information. Content clearly and effectively supports

a central purpose or thesis and displays a thoughtful, in-depth
analysis of a sufficiently limited topic.
Amount of Information: minimum of 7 pages
60 pts
All points or main ideas are addressed and all questions
answered with a minimum of 7 pages and no more than 10.
Mechanics
Sentence structure and grammar are excellent. Correct use of

punctuation and citation style. Minimal to no spelling errors
and absolutely no run-on sentences. The paper also conforms
to MLA format requirements.
Critical Thinking
Accurately interprets evidence, statements, graphics, etc.
50 pts
Identifies salient arguments pro and con. Thoughtfully
analyzes and evaluates major alternative points of view.
Draws warranted, judicious, non-fallacious conclusions.
Use of Sources: 5 required
Always uses sources to support, extend, and inform, but
50 pts
not to substitute for the writer’s own development of an
idea. Combines material from variety of sources and does
not overuse quotes.
