There are three parts to the paper.
First, explain the basic principles of utilitarianism and deontology.
Second, present an example where you ask a clear ethical question and then apply utilitarianism and deontology to reach different answers.
Third, explain which theory offers a better approach to ethical decision-making and defend your choice with reasoning.
Be sure to construct your paper as a standard essay, including an introductory paragraph with a clear thesis and a brief roadmap for your paper, and a series of body paragraphs that begin with clear topic sentences. When the body of your essay is finished be sure to add a concluding paragraph that reviews the central points of your paper without adding any new ideas.
